Read about our friend, Vy Nguyen, here.

I was excited to see this blog post of a quick interview with our friend, Vy Nguyen, who works with the awesome folks at Church World Service. Vy grew up at East Dallas Christian Church but is now a strong voice for the work of fighting hunger in our world.

From his interview:

But more important than that, I’ve seen hunger first hand, and I’m committed to doing anything in my power to end it. I was blessed to have elders at my church growing up who taught me what it means to stand up for justice and making it look cool while doing it, and the hard work and sacrifices that is required for this work. The seed they planted in me is a constant reminder to work to make a difference in this world, and to always be on the side of the most vulnerable within my community.

Crop Walk Video

We watched this cool video on Sunday that made it clear how our donations and participation in the annual Crop Walk can make a difference in the lives of others. Here it is again:

Church World Service is the awesome organization behind the Crop Walks. They were on the ground before and after the recent earthquake in Haiti. They have resources and partners across the globe that promote peace, justice, hope, and compassion for those in need. Our donations go to make sure there are resources available in times of crisis and especially to those who are the neediest.

It’s good to remember that when we give, we are about helping others achieve their dreams.
