Leslie Butler is one of our members, and he shared his talents with us a couple of Sundays ago at the Table. In our flow of worship, Leslie sat near the back row of our seats and chose to worship through his gift of illustration and creation. During our offering time, he brought his finished piece forward and laid it at the front edge of our central table. It was awesome!
Rev. Doug Kriz of the new Grace Christian Church out in Prosper has been challenging his community with a Thanksgiving Challenge. On Facebook for the past few weeks, Doug has been posting lots of things he gives thanks for personally. It’s good stuff to read. He’s reminded me how we are often blessed by the people around us. Giving thanks regularly helps one develop a sense of humility and perspective – it grounds us.
Today, I give thanks for people like Leslie… for having the courage to share their gifts and for reminding us through art how God is alive and at work in our world. I feel inspired by Leslie and many others who share so boldly.
Each day, if you were to give thanks for someone or something in your life, what would it be?
