By the time you read this…

Douglass Anne and I will be on the road to NW Arkansas for some awesome mission trip/adventure/experiential learning fun.

We are taking 7 youth from the church and meeting up with 140+ from all over Texas, etc.

It should be a great week. Please pray for us…. although it’s not like we are leaving civilization behind. We’ll be near Walmart headquarters, so we can easily stock up on anything we need I suppose. However, I hope that our youth have a lot of fun and experience what God might be up to in their lives and the lives of those they meet.

So, seriously, say a little prayer for us. Send us some positive energy. I’ll keep you updated throughout the week with pictures and other fun stuff.

See you soon!

Mark your calendars

Mark your calendars for a couple of quick updates:

First, no pub ministry next Tuesday to the July 4th holiday. Several of us will be out and about, so we will pick back up on July 10 with a special guest joining us. It’s going to be fun. More details on that later.

Second, July 11 is movie night at the church. Grab your lawn chair and brown bag dinner, and join us for a fun movie, “Larry Crowne”. I haven’t seen it, but I will be there. We’ll have childcare. We’ll have free popcorn. What else do you want? Oh, and I promise the air conditioning will be perfect.

Third, expect a few updates from the road as Douglass Anne and I take 7 of our youth on an exciting escapade into NW Arkansas for work, learning, and spiritual transformation. It’s called a mission trip, and it should be fun.

The Table worship gatherings continue on, 9:30 AM every Sunday as usual.

Mission Update

I shot a quick and simple video with Greg and Jules, two of our leaders of the Table community, about their upcoming Honduras mission trip. It’s a short conversation about what moved them during their last trip and what they are anticipating in the upcoming return trip. Part of their focus is learning how to organize mission experiences like these, so that we can lead our own team in future years. I hope you join me and the rest of the Table community as we keep them in our prayers next week and on.

BTW, our video session almost got interrupted, so apologies for my goofy face about halfway through. Next time, I’ll remember to put the “quiet please, video taping in progress” sign up on the conference room door.

Bingo!

Bingo!

On March 18 for lunch, the church is going to have a big bingo bash to raise money for our small team of folks who are going to Honduras this summer with the Church of the Incarnation. This effort is part of a plan that will eventually have us taking our own team to Honduras. Our folks going on this trip are continuing to learn about the process and get trained up so they can turn around and guide a trip on their own. We want to support them in this effort of partnership with the people of Honduras.

The Bingo Bash will be an opportunity to connect with other church members, have a lot of fun playing bingo, win some silly prizes, and support this important mission team as they prepare to do their work. It’s $5 for your meal (taco salad bar) and one bingo card. Additional bingo cards are available for additional donations. Oh, and if you want some delicious dessert, that’s an extra donation too! Haha! There might even be some special celebrity guests on hand.

Mark your calendars and plan on helping out!
